**I am Kathy McKinney, the proud founder of The REDD-LETTER Women’s Foundation in Columbus, Ohio. My journey began in the shadows of adversity, witnessing my mother endure unspeakable abuse. I watched as she fought to keep a roof over our heads, only to find her anger and pain manifest in ways that affected me deeply. Yet, I refuse to hold resentment. My mother faced her own demons, having lost her parents at a tender age, and I recognize that her struggles shaped her into the beautiful woman she was, even as she battled her mental health issues.**

 

**My life has been a series of challenges, including a 15-year marriage to a narcissist that left me feeling lost, numb, and broken. The mental and verbal abuse I endured took me to my lowest point, where I found myself on the brink of despair, crying out to God from the depths of my soul. I wore a mask of normalcy, but inside, I was screaming for help. I understand firsthand that abuse—whether physical, mental, or verbal—is abuse. It scars, it silences, and it isolates. This is why I established The REDD-LETTER Women’s Foundation. It is a safe haven for women to come together, to share their stories without judgment, to cry, to heal, and most importantly, to find the support they need.**

 

**I refuse to let another woman feel alone in her struggle. I know what it’s like to feel trapped in a dark place, and I want to ensure that no woman ever has to face that solitude again. This foundation is dedicated to my mother, who, despite her struggles, demonstrated extraordinary strength and resilience. She fought with everything she had, and while she may have faced her battles alone, I believe that if she had access to something like The REDD-LETTER Women’s Foundation, her journey might have been different.**
